What documents do I need to bring with me?
When taking over the rented vehicle you must bring a valid driving license, passport or identidy card and a valid credit card.
How can I pay for the rental car?
The time of pick up of the vehicle you can pay with a credit card (Visa, Mastercard, Diners Club, American Express, Maestro) which must be valid for at least one month after the end of rental period.
What do I need to know about returning the rental car?
Return the rented vehicle at the company location of the lessor during business hours. The vehicle will be checked for any excess mileage, damage or excessive pollution and will be invoiced accordingly.
How is the rental car insured?
Rented vehicle is insured against liability according to the insurance conditions usual in Austria. There is a passenger insurance and a comprehensive cover, where you are liable with an excess. The amount of the deductible depends on the type of vehicle. In case of intentional or grossly negligent damage, the claim can be increased to the total amount of damage.
May I sublet the rental car?
You may not sublet the vehicle.
May I drive the rental vehicle abroad?
You are allowed to use the rental vehicle for trips abroad (limited to the European area). Any fees and charges incurred in connection with this, such as tolls, vignettes etc. shall be borne by the renter.
What happens in case of a legal violation?
Possible criminal acts in connection with the use of the vehicle (fees, tolls, vignettes, fines, any unlawful actions) will be charged to the renter. Additional processing fees will be charged for this.
What about different vignettes?
The validity of the vignettes has to be checked by the renter themselves. These costs, as well as any other toll fees or charges incurred, are to be borne by the lessee.
Do I have to return the rented vehicle with a full tank of fuel?
Yes, the rental vehicle will be handed over with a full tank of fuel and must be returned with a full tank of fuel. If the rented vehicle is not fully refuelled upon return, the refuelling will be carried out by the lessor and the renter will be charged with a surcharge.
What are the tyres of the vehicle?
During summer time mostly summer tyres are mounted. From mid-October the cars are fitted with winter or all-season tyres.
Are snow chains available for the winter?
Chains are not provided with the rental vehicles, though can be provided if required (please contact the lessor prior to pickup to discuss).
What to do in case of breakdown or accident?
The event of a breakdown, please inform the lessor immediately and follow the lessor's instructions (Markus Fink: 0043/55138640). In the event of a accident, you must write a thorough accident report wth all parties involved on site. Depending on the severity of the accident or ambiguities between the parties involved, the police must be called in.
